D3 cannot offer athletic money. Instead, coaches help strong recruits with admissions and point them toward academic and need-based aid, which can add up to substantial packages at many D3 schools.
D3 lets you compete at a high level while prioritizing academics, often at strong schools with generous non-athletic aid. For many athletes the fit and the degree outweigh a small partial scholarship elsewhere.
