Height ranges are bimodal
Below state level, height is mostly speed and athleticism. Above state level, technique becomes the dominant variable. The varsity to state-qualifier gap is roughly 6-12 inches for most athletes.
High jump heights rise steeply by level. A varsity HS girl who clears 4'10" is average; one who clears 5'4" is a state finalist. The bar is unambiguous, you either cleared the height or you didn't. Below: real benchmarks by age and level, and the leverage points that move you up an inch.

Two athletes with the same approach can clear different heights based on bar-clearance form. The arch over the bar, head-and-shoulders position, and trail-leg snap all matter.
Vertical jump correlates strongly with high jump height. Athletes who can dunk usually clear 6'0"+. The carry-over isn't automatic, technique still matters, but the floor moves up.
